Privacy Policy

How ToolJury handles your data. Short version: we don't collect personal information, don't run trackers we don't disclose, and use Google AdSense + Analytics with standard cookies.

Last updated: 27 April 2026

The short version

ToolJury is a static site. We don’t have user accounts, signup forms, or comment systems. We don’t ask for your name, email, or any other personal information. The only data collection that happens is what your browser shares with our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for delivery, and what Google’s services collect via their ads and analytics scripts that we embed.

What data is collected, and by whom

1. Cloudflare (hosting / CDN)

Our site is served by Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, Cloudflare logs:

  • Your IP address
  • The page you requested
  • Your browser’s User-Agent string
  • A timestamp

This is standard server-log data used for security (DDoS protection, abuse prevention) and performance optimisation. Cloudflare’s privacy policy governs this. We do not have access to individual user records — only aggregate analytics.

2. Google AdSense (ads)

We display ads on this site through Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies and similar technologies to serve relevant ads and measure their performance. Specifically:

  • DoubleClick / DART cookie — used to serve ads based on your visit history across the web
  • Frequency-cap cookies — to avoid showing the same ad repeatedly
  • Conversion tracking — to measure ad effectiveness

You can opt out of personalised ads at Google’s Ads Settings page. EU/UK/UAE residents can also use the EDAA opt-out tool for industry-wide opt-out.

For the full picture, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

3. Google Analytics (traffic measurement)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site (which comparisons are popular, where readers come from, mobile vs desktop). GA4 collects:

  • Page views, session duration, bounce rate
  • Approximate location (country / region only, IP-anonymised)
  • Device type, browser, operating system
  • Referrer (the site that linked to us)

GA4 does not store full IP addresses by default and does not allow us to identify individual visitors. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

When you click one of our affiliate links (e.g., to NordVPN, ProtonVPN), the affiliate network sets a tracking cookie that lets the merchant know we sent you. This cookie persists for 30–90 days depending on the merchant. If you sign up within that window, we earn a commission. The cookie does not let us see what you do on the merchant’s site — only the merchant sees that.

The affiliate networks we currently use are Impact (for NordVPN) and Impact (for Proton). Both have their own privacy policies governing what they collect and retain.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not have user accounts, so there is no profile linked to you
  • We do not collect email addresses, run a newsletter, or have signup forms
  • We do not have a comment section or any user-generated content
  • We do not sell or share your data with anyone except as described above (Cloudflare for hosting, Google for ads/analytics, affiliate networks for referral tracking)
